High blood pressure or Hypertension (Rakta Gata Vata in Ayurveda) is the increased or higher pressure of the blood in the arteries. We all know that heart is a pumping station of our body which pumps blood. Blood pressure rise with each beat of heart and falls when heart relaxes. High blood pressure can cause heart attacks, strokes, aneurysm, heart or kidney failure, and vision loss. High blood pressure can be identified by the help of symptoms like obesity, kidney failure, strokes, hardening of the arteries, headache, heaviness, restlessness, respiration problems, giddiness, irritation, anger, nose bleeding, increased heart beat, chest pain, insomnia, tiredness, and many more. High blood pressure is an indicator of serious problems. Excess use of salt is commonly known as the cause of the high blood pressure, but there are many other cause of this high blood pressure like smoking and drinking for a long time, hereditary, hormonal disorders, abnormal condition of blood vessels, non- vegetarian food, mental stress, insomnia, obesity, and use of medicine for a long time, lack of exercise, etc. Ayurved has developed their roots in the fields of medicating the high blood pressure. The most effective home remedies for high blood pressure are – 1. Lauki (Bottle guard) – Lauki has sedative properties and has cooling effect on body, which helps in relaxing the body. Lauki juice is enriched with iron, vitamins and Potassium. Lauki juice when mixed with amla juice can help reducing body weight, thus helps regular blood pressure. 2. Coconut Water – The minerals like potassium, magnesium and vitamin C, which are needed to reduce the high blood pressure, are there in coconut water. One should get the best results if he or she drinks coconut water 3 – 4 times a day. 3. Lemon – Lemon is those supplements which we use in are food to increase the taste of the food. But there are many less people who know that lemon is also beneficial to reduce the high blood pressure. The high Vitamin C helps our heart to be healthy. Regular drinking of warm water along with freshly squeezed lemon juice each morning, empty stomach. 4. Onion Juice – Onion is one of the natural remedy used to overcome the problem of high blood pressure. Consumption of a medium sized onion raw every day or the mixer of half teaspoon of onion juice and honey twice a day. 5. Fenugreek Seed – The fenugreek seeds (methi is very high potassium and dietary fiber contents which help to control the high blood pressures. The most effective way to consume it is first boil two teaspoons of Fenugreek Seeds in water for two to three minutes then strain it and make past by blending it. The best time to consume it is empty stomach in morning and in evening.

Many people today are suffering from the problem of hair loss. It is a problem which gives birth to the problem like depletion of self-confidence, negative attitude. It’s not a major problem in view point of since and medical but for an individual it’s a big problem.  In ayurved there are many simple and effective ways to treat the hair loss. These treatments are both cost affective and simple too. Under Ayurved the cause of the hair loss is the excess of Pitta Dosha in the body. Excess intake of alcohol, coffee, tea, smoking, fried, spicy food and hot climate are the main reasons of the Pitta Dosha. According to the concept of pitta dosha we can conclude that the reason of hair loss is unbalance diet. Ayurvedic home remedies can treat the hair fall completely if it is followed with right manner at right time. Some of the most common Ayurvedic treatments for hair loss are been listed below:- 1. Amla (INDIAN GOOSEBERRY) - Amla is a rich source of vitamin C with many minerals, antioxidants and several other vitamins. It helps the hair to be stronger, healthier and provides a good conditioning. USAGE- Make a thick smooth paste by mixing water and Amla powder, than section your hairs and start applying it to scalp and hair. After 30 minutes wash your hairs with shampoo. This process should be repeated thrice a week. Also Consuming Amla Juice or Triphala juice daily can help in reducing hair loss. 2. Aloe Vera - Aloe Vera has proven his importance in the fields of Ayurveda. Boosting the scalp health, curbing hair fall, promoting hair growth are also the values of aloe vera. USEAGE- Mixture of half cup pure Aloe Vera gel, 3 tbsp Coconut Oil and 2 tbsp honey. Apply it on your scalp and hair and let it be for 30 – 45 minutes. Wash off it with slight warm water and shampoo. 3. Banyan Tree - Banyan tree is used as a medicine to reduce or to stop the falling of hairs. It’s very simple to use. USAGE- Mix lemon juice with the grinded banyan tree root and apply it to the scalp. 4. Bhringraj (The King of Herbs) - It is known as the king of hair because it has the power to reverse the baldness and prevent of graying hair. It has the calming effect when applied to the scalp. USAGE- Prepare a mixture of Bhringraj powder and some water. It should be prepared in a thick consistent paste form. Then apply the past to the scalp and leave it for 15 – 20 minutes. Afterwards wash your hair with shampoo. 5. Apple Cider Vinegar - Apply apple cider vinegar to scalp for hair loss due to dandruff or bacterial infections. Constant and proper use of these method will result is very less or no hair fall.

Kadha is basically the mixture of some herbs containing medicinal values, boiled with water till the herbs losses the values and the benefits of herbs mixed with water. When we talk about Ayurved, there is no way that one could not have come across the herbs or kadhas to treat any disease through Ayurved. India is the home of several herbs and these herbs have their reach to every Indian house.the most common use of these herbs is to give the food flavor, taste or smell. But it is also used to make desi decoctions or kadhas. It is very simple and easy to prepare kadha which increase the acceptance of it in India. Some of the most common desi decoctions in Ayurveda are : - Kadha for cold and cough – in case of cold and cough one should drink the desi decoctions which have ginger and black pepper. Both black pepper and ginger generate the heat in the body. It also maintains the respiratory system and enhances digestion and circulation. It is also very simple to make and have no side effects. Mix dry ginger and black pepper with water and boil the mixture till it reduces to half, then add honey to it and mix well. Have this kadha 3-4 times a day to get relief from cold and cough in the winter. A Desi decoction for maintaining blood sugar level –Diabetes is the most common disease in today’s time emerged as big problem. But it can also be controlled by ayurvedic kadhas. The kadha contains methi (fenugreek seeds) and haldi (turmeric) which helps to maintain the sugar level. Get powdered fenugreek and turmeric in equal quantities and add them to milk and boil it. Consuming one glass every morning gives great results. Better digestion from kadha – improper digestion is not a big problem but it is the cause which invites many problems. With improper digestion can cause problems like upset stomach, gas, constipation, indigestion. Herbs like fennel seeds and carom seeds have properties of preventing the formation of gas and improving the digestion system of an individual. Kadha made by fennel seeds and carom seeds (ajwain) is very helpful in digestion. Add one teaspoon each of ajwain and saunf to boiling water and let the decoction boil for several minutes and then add honey to it for taste. Drink this after your meals for improving digestion. Kadha for fever – Fever is a common disease in winter seasons and for treating it kadha is very useful. Tulsi leaves, clove, and laung are the most common herbs to be used in making of kadha for treatment of fever. These herbs allow the body to sweat which helps to get rid of fever. Crush 7 tulsi leaves and 5 cloves or laung and add them to a glass of boiling water. Let the water boil till it reduces to half and then add a pinch of rock salt to it. Have this kadha twice a day for 2-3 days.
