What is a Sore Throat?

Sore throat is a common problem many people face as the weather changes. The mucous membranes of the body swell as a response to a sore throat causing your voice to sound different. A sore throat is characterized by a dry and scratchy throat and is generally accompanied by a painful feeling that persists in the throat. Some people experience pain while talking or swallowing with a sore throat. Usually, the symptoms of a sore throat go away in a few days but can be bothersome while they last. If caused by a common cold, a sore throat can disappear, but you will require treatment in case of a throat infection.
